9.02.175 Temporary use of fire hydrants and meters.
(a) All persons, corporations or any other entities desiring to connect to city fire hydrants for temporary water supplies must first apply to the public works department for and receive permission from them to do so. The application will be on the form provided by the public works department.
(b) All persons, corporations or any other entities using city hydrants as temporary water supplies shall pay a refundable deposit on the water meter and associated equipment of seventy-five dollars for a three-quarter inch meter, one hundred fifty dollars for a one and one-half inch meter and three hundred dollars for a three-inch meter. The rental fee for use of the water meter shall be five dollars per day, sixty dollars per month or any portion thereof. In addition, the person, corporation or any other entity using the water meter shall pay a fee based on water consumption as shown on the water meter. The consumption fee shall be calculated pursuant to Selah's current water rates for the meter size used.
(c) In the event all city equipment is not promptly returned, or is returned in damaged condition, the user shall become liable to the city for the full replacement cost. (Ord. 1916, § 1, 2013; Ord. 1490,, 2000; Ord. 1262,, 1995.)
