The water may, at any time, be shut off from the mains without notice for repairs, extensions or other necessary purposes and persons having boilers supplied by direct pressure from the mains are cautioned against danger of explosion or collapse and where meters are in use on such service, a safety valve shall be placed between the boiler and the meter at the owner's expense and the owner shall be responsible for all damage caused to the meter by hot water. The city shall not be responsible for the failure to supply water. The city shall make a reasonable effort to notify the customer when the water is to be shut off for repair. (Ord. 447,, 1970.)
