It is unlawful to use any portion of the sidewalk or area commonly devoted to pedestrian use along that portion of Naches Avenue of the city of Selah lying between the intersection of said Naches Avenue with South 2nd Street and Wenas Avenue and extending a distance of one hundred forty feet on the north and south sides of such area as a driveway or vehicular approach to any premises or structure located upon land abutting upon the aforesaid portion of Naches Avenue; provided that this restriction shall not apply to existing driveways and vehicular approaches, nor to existing alleys.
