No person, firm or corporation shall engage in or carry on any business, occupation, pursuit or privilege for which a license fee or tax is imposed by this chapter without first having obtained, and being the holder of, a valid and subsisting license to do so, to be known as a "utility occupation license." Each person, firm or corporation shall promptly apply to the city clerk-treasurer for a license upon the appropriate form provided by the city clerk-treasurer, giving such information as is reasonably necessary to enable the administration and enforcement of this chapter. Upon acceptance, the city clerk-treasurer shall thereupon issue such a license to the applicant. A utility occupation license shall be personal and nontransferable. (Ord. 810, § 2, 1983.)
