Before any license is granted under the terms of this ordinance, the applicant shall execute and deliver to the city of Selah, a bond in the sum of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) executed by the applicant and a surety company authorized to do business in the state of Washington as surety, conditioned that the applicant will keep and save harmless the city of Selah, its officials, agents and employees from any and all claims, damages, judgments and expenses which may arise from any negligence of the applicant, his agents, servants, contractors or employees, or any of them, in the spraying or dusting of any fruit, shade or forest trees, or shrubbery of any kind.

Provided, however, that in lieu of the bond required herein, any licensee hereunder may submit proof that the city of Selah is covered by liability insurance or is otherwise indemnified under an existing policy of public liability insurance in the amount of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) or more.

In addition to the foregoing, prior to issuing a license, the licensee shall submit proof that he carries public liability insurance in which the limits of liability are not less than ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) for public liability and five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) for property damage. (Ord. 157, Sec. 2, 1950.)
