Within 30 days after receiving the report from the city clerk upon the application, the city council shall hold a hearing to which the applicant shall be invited to attend upon at least 10 days written notice and at which all interested persons shall be entitled to be heard.

In determining whether or not an application should be granted the city council shall consider whether or not the public convenience and necessity require or make desirable additional motion picture facilities, the character and financial responsibility of the applicant, the experience of the applicant in the operation of motion picture theaters and his reputation in such business, the size and type of the proposed motion picture theater and its proximity to locations where alcoholic beverages are sold or dispensed and any such other factors which may assist the city council in a determination as to whether or not it is in the best interests of the health and welfare of the city of Selah that the license applied for be granted.

The applicant shall be notified in writing within 10 days after such hearing of the determination of the city council upon the application. (Ord. 107, Sec. 5, 1945.)
