The fire department may enter into mutual aid agreements, interlocal agreements or other similar types of agreements with fire departments, agencies, communities or areas upon approval both by a majority of the entire city council and by fire commissioners (or a binding decision via the dispute-resolution process), if any, under any then-existing joint operating agreement or other contractual agreement between the city of Selah and Yakima County Fire Protection District No. 2 or its successor or replacement.
