The fire chief shall have the power to draft and propose such rules and regulations as he or she may see fit; provided, that such are not inconsistent with state law, any provision of the Selah Municipal Code, any city ordinance or resolution, or any then-existing contractual agreement between the city of Selah and any other entity including but not limited to Yakima County Fire Protection District No. 2 or its successor or replacement. Any disciplinary action shall occur in accordance with any then-applicable personnel and employment handbook, rules, regulations and policies of the city including but not limited to those specific to the fire department.
