The payment by the city, on behalf of members of the police reserve unit, of the premiums for medical insurance (state industrial) and related coverage and the entire premium for benefits available under Workmen's Compensation laws of the state of Washington is authorized as funds and may be available therefor in accordance with the city budget, or in accordance with other appropriations as may be made from time to time by ordinance of the city council.
