The mayor shall appoint the Selah municipal court judge on or before December 1, 1994, for a term commencing January 1, 1995. The initial term shall expire on December 31, 1997. Thereafter, the term of office shall be for four years commencing with the term of January 1, 1998.

The council shall have the power to confirm the appointment of the municipal judge.

The person appointed municipal judge shall be a citizen of the United States of America and of Washington state, and an attorney admitted to practice law before courts of record of the state of Washington and shall otherwise meet all other requirements of the office. (Ord. 1184, § 1, 1994.)
