Members must notify the city administrator or the mayor's administrative assistant prior to the meeting of any anticipated absence. Notification of the absence shall be provided to the presiding officer prior to the meeting. The presiding officer shall register the absence in the record as an excused absence. Three unexcused absences in succession, including regular or special sessions of the full council shall constitute grounds for forfeiture of office pursuant to RCW 35A.12.060.
